About the Western Slope

The Western Slope refers to the part of Colorado west of the Continental Divide. The Western Slope encompasses about 33% of the state territory but has just 10% of the state’s residents. This area of the state has far fewer medical facilities, including neurologists and especially movement disorder specialists, than elsewhere in Colorado. For the record, we must acknowledge that more populated areas in the state also suffer from a dearth of needed resources, but the challenge is far greater on the Western Slope.
